We’re Finally Ready!

by | Jul 14, 2017 | Uncategorized

Finally, after hours and hours and days and weeks, our new Evelyn Pearl website is finally up and running thanks to all of Jim’s hard work and incredible talent. For all of our friends who have supported us for the last eighteen months, I am eternally grateful. To anyone new to the site, welcome. Since this is our first post, this list is small and Jim and I know most of you. That’s why we’re asking for your help.
As some of you know, my dearest friend, Evelyn Pearl Meyerson, lost her battle with breast cancer on December 20, 2015. My life will never be the same without her.
If you have lost a loved one to breast cancer, you know exactly how it feels. An empty chair at the table. A phone number that no longer rings. A lump in your throat that never seems to go away. I am one of millions and millions of people who mourn the life of someone special who can no longer celebrate life with us. While we can’t bring them back, but we can all work together to find a cure for breast cancer once and for all.
If you know me at all, you know I am both stubborn and tenacious. I refuse to let breast cancer win. Not today. Certainly not in the years to come. I consider myself a stalwart warrior in the battle against this disease. I challenge you to join me by raising both awareness and money until breast cancer is a thing of the past.
Remember, breast cancer is not only someone else’s problem. One in eight women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. Statistically, that means that no one escapes hearing of a breast cancer diagnosis of at least one friend or family member. Unfortunately, many know far more than that. Better treatments, and with hard work and dedication, a cure, may be around the corner. I truly believe that sisters, by birth or by choice, can make dying from breast cancer similar to dying from small pox. It will be a part of history that is no more.
As a jewelry designer, the best way I can best make a contribution to the fight against breast cancer is to make and sell breast cancer awareness jewelry. I promised Evelyn that I would give her life meaning by doing something meaningful in her name. Thankfully, before she died, she saw prototypes of the jewelry and the Evelyn Pearl logo design. Her smile said it all because the one thing she knew for sure was that I would never give up until the job was done. So, today we take a giant step forward as we officially launch our collection of Evelyn Pearl Breast Cancer Awareness Jewelry online at www.evelynpearl.com.
My next giant step is to get all of you to help spread the word. In honor of my friend Evelyn and on behalf of all the women living with and beyond breast cancer, I encourage you to help us by sharing (with the links on the left), reposting, or using any other channels that you have available. Every time I wear an Evelyn Pearl Pendant, I get at least one compliment, often more. I literally sell pendants right off my neck. The more pendants sold, the more money we can raise to help with early detection, to financially support patients whose funds are stretched or exhausted during treatment, and to fund cutting edge research.
With your help, we can make it happen!
All the best,
Susanna and Jim
